The Upper:
- Nike continued with the KNG-100 upper material, the same material that was used on the original Mercurial in 1998
- A newly designed stitching pattern created a padded like upper texture
- A larger flappy tongue was used compared to the previous Mercurial
The Sole Plate:
- The sole plate featured a unique aesthetic design
- This colorway featured a slightly different sole plate. Instead of the triangular aluminum tipped moulded studs, this used 6 screw in SG studs
Notes and Comments:
- The Match Mercurial was a bit of a strange one that not too many people remember
- Produced in just a few colorways for a brief period, R9 famously wore this model at Inter
