The Upper:

• The Adidas Ace 16.1 featured a new 3D synthetic skin upper
• The upper featured  triangular pattern throughout the entire boot
• Overall, the upper was a lightweight design, but was a little stiff and didn't have as much give to it
• This is a limited edition run, only 700 pairs made worldwide, the upper features a snake skin like design

The Sole Plate:

• Adidas used a sprintframe soleplate, with a circular stud shape
• The previous Adidas models used a triangular stud shape, so this was a major change from the previous models

Notes and Comments:

• The 16.1 was pretty lightweight with a flexible sole plate design that is very popular
  
• The upper tired a new 3D upper that provided dozens of grooves in the pattern
