A premium full K leather upper was used on the Maracana, one of the longstanding heritage lines by Diadora
They also featured a mesh liner towards the back, outside and insides of the boots to help shed some weight and provide a snug fit around the midfoot area
The Maracana featured a sublime fold over tongue in a "U" shape, fitted with an elastic band
The upper useda a stitching pattern that created several rounded grooves, similar to some designs we see today, as in the most recent Copa model
The Sole Plate:
A one piece plastic sole plate with triangular fitted studs were used
The studs were a bit bilkier, but they do sort of resemble a similar design to the Adizero stud
Notes and Comments:
This Maracana model was released as a more "economic" design, but proved to be a fan favorite for many years, especially in the early 2000s
The super soft K leather put these boots a step above most other models at the time, and came with a cheaper price tag
