A major change from the previous model, the Vapor IX featured a gold ball like pattern throughout the upper
The upper material was still a Teijin synthetic, similar to what was used on the last few models
The golf ball like pattern was designed to help improve the grip of the ball, and still remained very lightweight
The Sole Plate:
Nike continued from the previous model usingonly 2 studs in the back, a feature that was only used on the Vapor VIII and Vapor IX models
The same glass fiber material and patten was used from the previous model as well
The stud layout was nearly identical to the Vapor VIII, just a few cosmetic differences
This is a Sample version that features a half carbon fiber plate, instead of the full glass fiber plate. A spec that was never released
Notes and Comments:
The golf ball like pattern gave for a very unique design, and was very comfortable on the Vapor IX
The Vapor IX was known for their colorways darkening from the front to back, it gave a bit of a Vapor III vibe to it, but slightly different
This Vapor IX Sample was slightly different than retail, using a carbon fiber sole plate instead of the full glass fiber design that was on the general release
