CSC - Get To Know US and FAQ's

By:  Patrick Burd - Owner, Founder of Classic Soccer Cleats

New to the site or following us on Instagram?  Want to find out a bit more about us and how we came to be what we are now?

I’ll try to keep this brief and answer a few FAQ’s about Classic Soccer Cleats.  At the end, leave in the comments a question you want answered.
*Preferably a thought provoking question. Not “do you have Adidas Mercurials size 9”.  Yea, those are real questions, it's annoying.

Let me introduce myself a bit.  My name is Patrick Burd, I am the founder of Classic Soccer Cleats.  A business that started out as a hobby in college and turned into a full time job.  Everyone’s dream right?  Not gonna bullshit ya, it definitely is pretty sweet.  I don’t really care to beat around the bush so I’ll call things how they are.

Drop any comments if you want to chime in or see anything addressed!  Can even call me out for stuff, like I said, call it how it is.

Where are you based?

Very confused at how often I get this.  Classic SOCCER cleats.  Like, seriously, it's basically in the name.  USA.  We have our own office in New Providence, New Jersey.  About 40 mins from the city (NYC).

Some of the stock.  It's always changing, so it's kind of always a mess.

Have you done this your whole career?

Well, I’m 24 and have had a few jobs after graduating college.  I went over to the UK for a while, but found my way back to the USA.  Before the pandemic I worked in NYC at a digital marketing agency.  Didn’t like that, and realized selling Classics was what I really wanted to do so I just did it.

Rona strikes and it changed my life.  Obviously I hate this quarantine stuff and wish things would get better, but in terms of the decisions I made, it’s been an amazing ride.

Moved things from my parents garage to the first CSC HQ and it’s been the best thing ever.  I currently hire interns from the university I graduated from, and I have a few freelancers I work with.  But we are growing, and I am hiring!

Why did you start collecting?

I do have an amazing collection that has taken years to build, but at the end of the day I’m more of a seller, not a collector.  There’s tons of guys who have inspired me that are the real collectors like @Dlbootroom, @boots_maniac_thailand, @jormaxiv, @thepredcollective, and tons of guys that aren't on IG.

Most of what I do is geared towards making a sale.  Don’t get me wrong, I have stuff that I want to keep and I won't list on the site, but at the end of the day, everything always has a price with me.

The collection has been fueled by the selling, and everything I own was purchased because it made sense business wise.  I don’t think that will ever change.  So I guess the answer is, I have a collection because it all just made sense to buy them.

Beckham match worn, Pred Samples, Manias, just some of the best. Shop here.
Where do you get your boots from?

In the last blog, I already answered that.  It’s in the North Pole.  As a classic boots seller this is the most annoying question there can be.  Go ask a long standing pizza shop their recipe and business practices, let me know how that goes over.

I won’t tell any relevant info but the real answer is all over the world.  There isn’t a specific place.  Buying is the hardest part and takes the longest time, but it’s also the part that gives me the biggest rush.

Thats all for this one.  Hopefully a few of you will engage with this and drop a comment or question.  If there's anything good I will answer it next week, or can private message you!  Don't hold back, controversy is exciting.

Also, stay up to date and subscribe to the newsletter.  A new blog about some of the rarest Predator Samples will be released this Friday 3/12.

Where in the world would you say the biggest collectors are from? Also, do you see yourself expanding CSC to offer other collectable items like balls and clothing? I would rock some vintage soccer clothing especially anything feet you wear!

Which recently made soccer cleats do you think will be the next mercurials/manias? By this I mean in 20 years which of the newer made cleats are collectors, like myself, going to be hunting down?
