The Upper:
- The Predator 18.1 featured a newly designed synthetic "ControlSkin" upper material
- A dynamic collar was used with a lacing system, providing a very secure fit
- The upper featured diagonal lines in the instep and near the toe box, acting as a textured, "Pred" like element
The Sole Plate:
- Adidas introduced their "Boost" sole plate with the "ControlFrame" element
- The studs were a sort of jagged triangular like design for maximum cutting traction
Notes and Comments:
- The Predator 18 was the reincarnation of the Predator after a 4 year break, this leather variant wasn't as commercially available, but provides a very soft upper and comfy design
- The upper doesn't feature a rubber element like the previous preds did, but the diagonal grooves provide a very controlled strike zone
