Adidas rolled out a completely new speed boot in hopes of replacing the F50 line that was discontinued a few years back
The upper used a new synthetic material called the SpeedMesh
Overall the SpeedMesh was pretty lightweight and flexible, something Adidas had been lacking for a few years
The X18 also featured a dynamic "claw" like collar for a locked in secure fit
The Sole Plate:
Adidas used the SprintFrame sole plate, similar to the Adizero sole plate
A few updates were made, including rounded studs towards the back for added traction
Notes and Comments:
The X18.1 was the closest boot to an Adizero Adidas produced since they discontinued the line
The 18+ model was a ridiculous slip on design, but the 18.1 had many similar features to the iconic F50 line, making these one of the best recent speed boots
