Adidas Messi F50i Argentina Leather Tunit
New without box - with HG studs and stud wrench
The Upper:
- This was a limited run, one of the very few colorways in the Tunit model to feature a leather upper in the F50i version
- The leather used a very spongy and lightweight leather material, similar to the material used on the launch of the Adizero leather
- A fold over velcro lace cover that opened from the side was used for a super locked in fit
- This was an iconic Argentina inspired colorway, as worn by Messi
The Sole Plate:
- The Tunit model became famous for introducing an interchangeable sole plate
- The full set included 3 sets of studs, FG, SG, and HG studs that could be changed with the Tunit system to adapt to any surface
Notes and Comments:
- The tunit lasted from around 2006 to the start of 2010, before the Adizero was introduced
- The three part system (upper, chassis, and studs) was an innovative approach, but all of the working parts ended up making the boots a bit heavier than Adidas would have liked, especially for a speed boot
