Nike Mercurial Vapor II Burnt Orange Sample R9 SG
New without box - Sample markings in sock liner, see last pic
The Upper:
- A one piece lightweight Teijin synthetic material was used similar to the original Mercurial Vapor, Nike referred to it as the NikeSkin
- Newly designed lines on the upper made for a sleek, streamlined cosmetic design
- An iconic colorway, the Burnt Orange colorway, as worn by Ronaldo R9, with the R9 logo on the fold over tongue
- These boots have Sample tags, they are the exact same specs as retail versions, the Sample markings do not make them any different than what was produced
The Sole Plate:
- There wasn't a change from the original Mercurial Vapor model, Nike continued with the very lightweight plastic design
- Nike continued with a plastic heel cup in the back, to help keep a snug fit and to prevent heel slipping
- The SG pro used the Nike Snap studs, a short lived concept, that involved snapping the aluminum tipped studs into place
Notes and Comments:
- One of the most iconic Mercurials to date! Everyone loves the simple single color upper design
- The burnt orange colorway is not often seen today, very few of these left in existence and sort of a forgotten color
- An iconic 2000s look, as worn by Ronaldo, and even a young Cristiano Ronaldo!
