The Upper:
- Throwing it back to 1999, Nike released the revolutionary KNG-100 Upper
- The lightest and most durable premium leather technology at the time, making the Mercurial the lightest boots ever made
- A stitching pattern throughout the entire upper made these boots super sleek and lightweight
The Sole Plate:
- ** Left boot is SG sole plate, the Right boot is FG sole plate
- A hard plastic soleplate was used with super light materials, much lighter than anything on the market
- A bladed stud pattern on the FG plate was used, a bit similar in design to what would be used in the Air Zoom sole plate structure
Notes and Comments:
- An incredible pre production Salesman Sample. These two sample boots were examples of what was given to Nike Salesman back in the late 90s. Often times, Salesman were only given one boot for Samples, this is a combination of the FG and SG salesman sample, both with their own set of Samples tags
- An incredible late 90s Nike piece of innovation, you won't see anything like this anywhere else.
- Famously seen worn by R9 while at Inter in the late 90's. This R9 model featured the short tongue, which differed from the original 98 R9 with the long tongue
