The Upper:
- The upper uses a full synthetic material throughout, designed after the top end Mercurial Vapor model, featuring an identical cosmetic approach
- The sythetic material is lightweight and flexible, but is slightly thicker than the top model boots
- This is the iconic colorway made for the 25th anniversary of the Mercurial, taking inspiration from the Mercurial Vapor I R9 from the 2002 World Cup
The Sole Plate:
- The Zoom Mercurial XV model used the iconic Air Zoom technology in the heel, providing a cushioned feel as well as an explosive element to the boots
- This Academy model used a very similar layout to the top model, using a combination of circular and chevron studs
Notes and Comments:
- The Zoom Vapor was one of the most popular boots over the past few years, with Nike reintroducing the Air Zoom technology in the Mercurial
- The Academy version looks very similar to the top model but uses slightly thicker materials overall
