The Upper:

Nike continued with a super lightweight Teijin synthetic material
The synthetic was very lightweight and durable, a classic Mercurial performance aspect that was successfully used for a number of years
The Vapor IV featured the iconic lace cover design to help with a secure, snug fit, and to keep the laces from getting in the way

The Sole Plate:

The SL version was the first Mercurial model to feature a full carbon fiber sole plate
The lightest sole plate design on the market, that would later be used in the Superfly I, II, III, and IV
This SG variant features 6 screw in Soft Ground aluminum studs

The SL has such a simple yet effective design that had a lasting impression
Everyone and their brother either had a pair or remembers all the pros rocking them back in the day
An ultra lightweight speed boot with some iconic moments, such as the all carbon SL exclusively worn by CR7 in the 2008 CL Final
