The Upper:
- The Phantom Venom Academy model was based off the top end Phantom GT Elite, a very short lived, but wildly popular boot by Nike
- The upper on the Academy model used a Nike Skin design that was a one piece synthetic material, slightly thicker and more padded than the top model
- The Academy modeled featured a slightly ribbed rubber material near the instep, which added some texture on the boots and created a strike zone
The Sole Plate:
- This sole plate used a one piece plastic design, that was slightly thicker than the Elite version, but featured a similar cosmetic approach
- A mixture of chevron and circular studs were used
Notes and Comments:
- Overall, the upper is rather nice on these, with a similar cosmetic approach to the top model
- The main difference is the sole plate being slightly thicker than the top model, but overall the boots are rather nice to the touch
