The Upper:
- The Phantom Venom Academy model was based off the top end Phantom GT Elite, a very short lived, but wildly popular boot by Nike
- The upper on the Academy model used a Nike Skin design that was a one piece synthetic material, slightly thicker and more padded than the top model
- The Academy modeled featured a slightly ribbed rubber material near the instep, which added some texture on the boots and created a strike zone
The Sole Plate:
- This is the indoor version, that uses dozens of grooves throughout the bottom of the sole plate, along with a circular suction cup like element near the top
- These are best suited for indoor play or everyday use on hard surfaces
Notes and Comments:
- Overall, the upper is rather nice on these, with a similar cosmetic approach to the top model
- The main difference is the sole plate being slightly thicker than the top model, but overall the boots are rather nice to the touch
