The Upper:
- The Copa Pure Elite model used a newly designed FusionSkin upper, a popular choice amongst pros including Declan Rice
- Adidas used the FusionSkin upper design, a soft, spongey material that gave a leather like look and feel. The FusionSkin was very soft and flexible and gave the same sort of feeling that a leather boot would
- Keeping with the classical heritage of the Copa, the upper featured a series of grooves in the fusion skin that created a natural strike zone in the instep of the boots
- The upper featured a stitchless design throughout the strike area, a new concept by Adidas, however the grooves that were created, provided a nice textured feel throughout the upper creating a natural striking element
The Sole Plate:
- A one piece flexible plastic sole plate was used with crescent studs, designed for maximum traction on all types of pitches
- A series of bladed studs towards the back of the boots and crescent studs were used for added traction on all outdoor pitch types
Notes and Comments:
- The Copa Pure is a modern take on a classic Copa design using many similar elements to the original Copa Mundials
- The Copa Pure 2 Elite definitely has a more modern look to it, but the grooves created throughout the boots make these one of the more popular Copa models through recent years. The upper is incredibly flexible and has a buttery soft feel to it
